I’m an Assistant Professor of Science Communication in the Department of Communication Arts at the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario.
Broadly, I’m interested in how methods travel across time and space. My current research is on experimental practice in cognitive science. I bring together approaches from Science Studies, Performance Studies, and Communication to describe how experiments are designed, performed, and understood by their subjects and researchers. I take an ethnographic and ethnomethodological approach to everyday practice and multi-modal interaction. Collaborating with scientists in and through experiment is becoming an increasingly compelling way to work.
